The Adventures Of Lilly And Jax is an exploration in design on how to convey the issue of toxic masculinity as well as various coping techniques to children, this is achieved through two short children’s books and the characters themselves. All final deliverables where hand made for this specific project using various techniques including book binding, layout design, book design, sewing and Illustration.

BOOK 01: THE ARTIST

Jax has always loved to draw, it’s his favorite past time but when his dad tells him that his drawings are too flowery he stops drawing all together even though it makes him sad. But thankfully his best friend Lilly helps him realize that he should draw if it makes him happy despite what his dad says.

BOOK 02: TEMPER TANTRUM

When Lilly and Jax are playing in the garden and Jax loses he Impulsively gets angry at Lilly and makes her cry, because of this Jax realizes that getting angry isn’t the right way to react to or fix a situation.
